What an Exchange Audit Can and Cannot Prove
When an audit or attestation is on the public record, it proves only what the named report covers: a legal entity, a period, a standard, and a stated scope. It does not prove that a brand is safe, that customer assets are bankruptcy-remote, or that every affiliate is included — unless those points are themselves in the report.

Why it matters
- “Audited exchange” headlines omit entity, period, and qualification language.
- Users then skip the report and treat the brand as continuously assured.
A reading order
Name the legal entity on the report — not the app brand.
Read the period and the standard.
Read qualifications, emphasis of matter, and scope exclusions.
Do not copy the opinion onto unlisted affiliates, products, or later dates.
What VenueVeritas will not do
It will not infer an audit from Proof of Reserves.
It will not treat a missing audit as a finding of fraud.
It will not score venues by auditor brand names.
Limitations
- Many operator “audit” pages are attestations or agreed-upon procedures, not statutory financial-statement audits. VenueVeritas uses the label on the primary source.
